Being prepared for real-life incidents is vital to the work of our volunteers. Events like NavShield provide an opportunity to put navigation, decision-making, endurance and teamwork skills to the test in challenging terrain — helping build the capability needed when our community needs us.
This year, VRA Rescue NSW Cave Rescue had three teams competing: one one-day team and two two-day teams. One team achieved an impressive 1,920 points across 26 hours of demanding navigation and endurance.
They were also joined by fellow VRA Rescue NSW competitors from SORU and Central Coast Rescue Squad.
A huge thank you to the NSW SES Bush Search and Rescue Unit for organising another outstanding event, and congratulations to all our VRA Rescue NSW members who took part.
A great result for Cave Rescue and a valuable weekend of training, teamwork and preparation in support of our community.
